My own interest in the subject goes back to my school days when studying the Bible in its original Hebrew language. The talk of the Deluge, the “Great Flood” in chapter 6 of Genesis begins by stating that “those were the days when the sons of the Elohim took the daughters of men as wives, and had children by them.” The Bible calls those divine beings Nephilim [the children of the Elohim and daughters of men] and my teacher explained that the term means giants… I asked my instructor why he said the word Nephilim means “giants” when it actually means “those who have come down from heaven to earth.”41
